I am a foreign traveller. How can I subscribe to Ideal Card?
The subscriber (at least 20 years old) should visit Chunghwa Telecom Service Center in person with passport and secondary ID. Secondary ID may be one of the following: Entry Permit issued by Taiwan National Immigration Agency, Visa, Tourist Visa, ARC, or International Student Card. If none of the above is available, the subscriber may use his/her official Photo ID (such as Social Security Card, Identity Card, or Driver’s License).
I lost my Ideal Card (My handset is lost; how should I stop my phone service?)
Contact our 24-hour toll free number 928 (and then dial 9) or 0800-080-928 to report a lost card and suspend service. The subscriber must bring identification documents to Chunghwa Telecom Service Center to apply for a replacement for NT$300 charge. The remaining credit may be resumed within valid period. Chunghwa Telecom is not responsible for any credit missing resulting from the loss of Ideal Card.
For any non-manmade damage to the Ideal Card within one year of purchase, or for use of Ideal Card more than five years, replacement of new card is free of charge. If the Ideal Card is lost or damnaged by improper use, Chunghwa Telecom is not responsible for the unused credits. The subscriber may apply for a replacement card in accordance with Chunghwa Telecom Sim Card Replacement Regulations.
Expiry Date of Ideal Recharge Voucher?
There is no expiry date of Ideal Recharge Voucher. The Ideal Card, however, expires 180 days from the time it is activated. As long as you continue to recharge your Ideal Card within valid period, you will be able to continue using the number assigned to your Ideal Card. (Multiple recharge of Ideal Card is available and the credit will be added up. The expiry date of your Ideal Card will be 180 days after the last recharge.)
What if my Ideal Card expires?
- The number will be retrieved 3 months after the expiry date, if the number is not yet assigned to another subscriber, you may call our customer service or visit our Service Centers (excluding Senao Retail Stores) with identification documents for application to recover reuse the number and remaining balance credits.
- If the number is already assigned to another subscriber, you may visit our Service Centers (excluding Senao retail stores) with identification documents to apply for transferring unused balance credits to any appointed Chunghwa Telecom mobile number.
- The remaining unused credits mentioned above do not include bonus credits gifted by Chunghwa Telecom, for example, free talk minutes, free SMS and value-added services, etc.
- If the customer fails to apply for remaining credits transfer/reuse 6 months after the Ideal Card expires, Chunghwa Telecom may charge a fixed custodian fee every month from the 7th month until all the remaining balance credits are used up.
Can I use my Ideal Card for International Roaming?
Ideal Card does not provide international roaming service; only international calling!
- Calling International:009 + country code + area code + phone number + SEND
或 0 1 9+ country code + area code + phone number + SEND
- Calling your Ideal Card number from abroad:IDD code + 886 (Taiwan country code) + your Ideal Card Number (without the prefix zero)
Can I apply for Ideal Card if I am under 18?
Applicant must be at least 20 years old. For those who are less than 20 years old, please ask your parents or guardian to assist you for application.
Is there expiry date for my credits?
You can use your remaining credits as long as your Ideal Card is within valid period. However, there is expiry date for Ideal Card which is 180 days from the date of last recharge.
For example: Mr. Lin used all his credits on 2006/6/6 and immediately recharged with NT$500. His remaining balance was NT$500 valid until 2006/12/3 (180 days from 2006/6/6). On 2006/10/3, the remaining credit was NT$100 so Mr. Lin recharged with another NT $1000. The remaining balance is now NT$1100 and will expire on 2007/4/1 (180 days from 2007/10/3).
What is "3G Pre-Paid Card Broadband Short-Term Plan"?
This plan is designed for 3G Pre-Paid Card customer who also has short-term internet demand. 3G Pre-paid card subscribers of this service can enjoy unlimited internet usage and specific mobile service within valid period.
What is the tariff for "3G Pre-Paid Card Broadband Short-Term Plan"?
There are three different tariffs:
．1-Day: NT$100; 24 consecutive hours of handheld data service
．3-Day: NT$250; 72 consecutive hours of handheld data service
．7-Day: NT$450; 168 consecutive hours of handheld data service
How should I set APN?
When broswing emome mobile network or using MMS services with your handset, please set APN to emome; for broswing internet, please set APN to Internet.
What services can I use if I subscribe to the plan?
You will have unlimited access to internet and emone mobile network browsing. The subscriber still needs to pay for charges associated with services such as calling, video call, SMS, video streaming, game/video/ring tone downloads, and MMS (in accordance with 3G Pre-Paid Card tariffs).
How long does it take for my plan to be activated?
It usually takes around 15 minutes to activate the service. However, the actual activated time should be based on system setting. Subscribers will receive an SMS of service activation and termination information. If subscribers are using data connection at that time, please turn off your device. Restart your device to enjoy the special rate of this service. You will receive SMS before (around one hour before termination of plan) and after termination of the plan.
What is the Service Notification SMS like?
The system will send SMS based on selected language to each Pre-Paid Card subscribers. For example, if subscriber selects Chinese/English, the system will send Chinese/English SMS. The system will send SMS based on updated language setting when changes are made.
How is the usage time calculated?
"24/72/168 consecutive hours" means the service is available for 24/72/168 consecutive hours once the service is activated. For example, upon subscriber’s application, 1-Day plan (24 consecutive hours) is activated on 8/1 14:00:00. The customer can access to internet service for total of 24 hours before the service terminates on 8/2 13:59:59
Can I still use internet service when my plan expires?
The system will send out SMS notification when the service is about to expire, and automatically cut-off data connection once service expires. Customers may re-connect to internet service, but will be charged in accordance with original internet service tariffs.
How do I pay for the service?
The service charge is deducted from balance credits deposited by the customer; and can not be deducted from complimentary credits gifted by Chunghwa Telecom.
Rate: NT$100/1 Day; valid for consecutive 24 hours
Rate: NT$250/3 Days; valid for consecutive 72 hours
Rate: NT$450/7 Days; valid for consecutive 168 hours
I am a subscriber to the plan. Can I use international roaming service?
International roaming service is not provided to 3G pre-paid card users.

Can I change my application after I subscribe to the plan?
Since the plan is for short-term service, no changes are allowed once application is done.
I am already a subscriber, can I apply again when my service is still within valid period?
Please apply again after your service expires.
I want to subscribe to "3G Broadband Short-Term Plan," how should I set up my APN?
Please set your APN to Internet.
What services can I use if I subscribe to the plan?
Only Internet Browsing is provided. Services such as emome membership, voice calls, SMS sending/receving, MMS, video calls, emome net, payment (include 839 service), international roaming and any value-added services are not included.
When will the plan become effective after subscription?
The plan will be effective once you complete your application.
How is the effective period calculated?
Chunghwa Telecom provides our customers the best service with best benefit. The applicant can use the service from the day of application until the night 3 or 7 days later. For example, the applicant applied for 3-Day plan on 10/1 can start using the service immediately and the unlimited broswing service is provided until 10/4 23:59:59.
Do I receive SMS notification before my service expires?
Since the service always terminates at 23:59:59, Chunghwa Telecom will not provide any SMS notification.
If I subscribe to the plan, can I make any further change to my application?
No changes can be made except card replacement.
How can I subscribe to the plan?

Do I need to cancel my service when the usage time expires?
No. The service will be automatically termianted once the usage time expires.
If I want to extend my usage when the service expires, what shoud I do?
Please visit our service centers or Senao retail stores again for application.
